Wages to be Paid for Shut-down and Ceasing Production

According to the Guidelines on Layoff, Stopping Production, Closing Down and Follow-Up Work for Employees in Enterprises issued by Guangdong provincial labor and security office, in case that an employing entity shuts down, stops production or goes out of business for a period falling within one wage payment cycle, wages should be paid to the employees as if normal work has been performed; if such period exceeds one wage payment cycle and work is arranged for the employees, the employer should pay wages to employees with a newly stipulated standard; if no work is arranged for employees, no less than 80% of the local minimum wage standard should be paid to employees as living expenses.
