Background
Although the implementation of code of conduct throughout supply chain improves labor conditions and worker engagement becomes an agenda of brands, many factories are lack of skills and tools for this in reality. In addition, some factories are lack of effective communication ways between workers, neglect of workers’ suggestions and feedbacks. This harms the willingness to express and engagement of factory management.
Participatory rapid appraisal (PRA) was introduced to industrial sectors by BSR in implementing factory sustainable improvement projects and had a great impact. Participatory Rapid Appraisal is a methodology adopted by many NGOs and international organizations such as World Bank. It aims to incorporate the knowledge and opinions of rural people or people from different levels of the corporate ladder in the planning and management of development projects and programs.
