A panel discussion on “Poisoning the Pearl River” was successfully held in Guangzhou on Jan 26, 2010. There were over 20 representatives from brands, government and academic institution attending this panel. BSR brought the good practices and introduced efforts on water to audience over the past years including sustainable water working group, developing water management and waste water disposal education programs and creating tools for suppliers.
BSR also invited representatives from Green Peace to share their environment campaigns in China especially the Report “Poisoning the Pearl”. The project manager introduced details on background, methodology, data collection, recommendations and next steps. Recommendations were provided for all participants on how to manage chemical in workplace such as chemical database management, prioritized chemical list, exposure limit and risk management plan.
